With the extreme success of Urban Decay’s Naked line, I knew I had to have at least one palette in my collection. I tried to look past all the hype with the recent release of the Naked3 palette and choose one that would be the best fit for my skin tone and eye color. I ultimately decided on Naked2 because of it’s improved features from the original Naked, and also because of the color variety that I believe would compliment my eyes better than Naked3.
The eye shadows are safely encased in a metal-like tin container. It may not be the ideal size to travel with but it definitely protects the shadows – which is a must since this palette doesn’t come cheap! It retails for $52 (USD) and is often in low supply since it’s in such high demand.
The Naked2 palette has 12 colors ranging from matte to shimmer and warm to cool tones. I love that there is a range because depending on what look you’re going for, either warm or cooler toned shades may be necessary.
The 12 eyeshadows are as follows: Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout.
- Foxy is a pale yellow-toned nude/beige. It’s somewhat powdery and is barely visible on the swatch on my arm.
- Half Baked is a golden bronze shimmer with a frosted finish. This shade is also included in the first Naked palette.
- Booty Call is a light pink shimmer with a frosted finish.
- Chopper is a coppery shimmer with silver microglitter.
- Tease is a creamy mauve-brown with a matte finish. It’s slightly more vibrant and red than the previous browns in the original Naked palette.
- Snakebite is a dark bronze with a golden shimmer finish.
- Suspect is a pale champagne-beige with a shimmer/frosted finish.
- Pistol is a light gray-brown with a frosted shimmer finish.
- Verve is a light beige-gray with slight pink undertones and a frosted shimmer finish.
- YDK is a cool coppery bronze shimmer with a metallic base.
- Busted is a burgundy-toned brown with a golden shimmer finish.
- Blackout is a dramatic dark black with a matte finish.
The palette also comes with a double-ended eyeshadow brush. I didn’t particularly like the end with the longer bristles because I don’t think it offers much control. I do however like the other end, as the bristles are shorter and more tightly-bound together.
Overall, I definitely think this and the other Naked palettes are worth the $52 price tag. Between the full length mirror, 12 full eyeshadows, heavy duty tin container, a double-ended brush, and even a mini pink gloss – the Naked2 is packed with all the essentials for a perfect palette.

Do you have any of the Naked palettes? What do you think of Naked2? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂
Nice review. As much as I love the Naked1 palette, I’ve never tried the other two before. I’m going to ask for them for Christmas this year. 🙂

I have the original Naked palette and the Naked 3 palette and I love them both, but I’ve been eyeing the Naked 2 palette recently too. Great review!

Thank you dear! I really want to get Naked 3 next hehe ^_^
Katy,
I have all of the Naked Palettes aside from the basic pallet and I think this one may be my favorite just because has a lot of variety and all the basic eyeshadows you need! Also as for the little scoring sheet at the end of your post, did you make that in some kind of editing software like photoshop? It’s a very nice touch!
XOXO

Thank you, Veronica! 🙂 I actually made it with HTML and CSS. If you want to see how I did the coding you can inspect the element or download Firebug in Firefox which lets you see the HTML and CSS for any website. Then you can customize it any way you like! 🙂 But I’m sure there are websites that let you create tables and give you the coding to make the table you create, I would just google “Make a table in HTML” or something like that. Hope this helps! ^_^
I love the Naked 2 palette, I use it every day!

I’m starting to use it every day now too! It’s so great having all the colors I need all in one palette so I don’t have to keep track of several several different eye shadows just for one look.
I agree, great review. I got the Naked 3 and love it but I’ve been looking at getting either Naked 1 or 2
Thank you so much! 🙂 I want Naked 3 now hehe, these palettes are so great. I don’t know if this would make a difference in your decision, but apparently Naked 1 has a much smaller mirror inside the compact and a lighter tin container. Since there are a few repeat colors, I would definitely only get one or the other.
great review!!
