February 8th marked the 57th Annual Grammy Awards and I have all the best beauty trends from the award show known for jaw-dropping looks.
Makeup
Let’s start with the makeup. If you thought nude lips were on their way out, think again. Whether it was a creamy fleshtone (think MAC’s ‘Myth’) or natural rose, the stars were all over the neutral shades. Both Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora dawned the classic smokey eye/nude lip combo that seriously can never fail. Kim had a bit more shimmer in her nude lip color, while Rita stuck to a matte shade with peach undertones. Beyonce kept her makeup subtle, but perfected her look with a shimmery nude lip as well.
Another popular makeup trend on the carpet was the cat-eye. Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, and Jennifer Hudson all sported the feline look, and paired with great lip color choices. Both Perry and Grande went a more neutral route with rosy/peach shades, very similar to their natural lip color. Hudson was more daring, and paired her cat-eyes with a bright magenta hue on her lips. It reminded me of MAC’s ‘Heroine‘ lipstick that was recently relaunched into their permanent collection.
Hair
Next, let’s talk about hair. I have one word for this Grammy Award Show and that is: Lob. A nickname for the long bob cut. Kim Kardashian literally just chopped her locks off this past week and made the Grammy Awards her first debut of the new do (as long as you’re not counting Instagram). Katy Perry had a bit shorter version of it, I guess you could call it a regular bob? But Perry’s bob was more out-there, with a gorgeous lavender/grey tone that made her stand out from the rest.
As for the rest of the ladies, Ariana Grande wore her classic half up pony-tail that we all can’t seem to get enough of, Beyonce wowed us with her perfect natural beach waves, and Rita Ora sported an edgy short style in an icy blonde hue.
This year’s Grammy Awards was a bit more toned down than previous years, but still brought about some gorgeous beauty looks that undoubtedly made a statement.
