The 2015 American Music Awards kicked off last night and there were plenty of notable beauty trends seen all around the red carpet. I have chosen six of my favorite beauty looks from the big night and tips on how to get the look!
The Best Beauty Looks
1. Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner debuted chic, fringe bangs to go with her all black ensemble. They were most likely clip-ins, but that’s the much smarter way to go these days since growing them out can be such a hassle. Kendall also sported some shimmer eyeshadow, a very natural pinky-nude lip, and of course the classic Kardashian contour. To illuminate the area under your eyes to the top of your cheekbones like Kendall, I would recommend using NARS blush in “Albatross”.
2. Gigi Hadid
“It” girl and supermodel, Gigi Hadid sported a new short bob, although hinted it was just a wig. Slicked back hair was one of the big beauty trends this year on the carpet and Gigi’s bob was perfectly combed back to sleek perfection! To get slicked back hair to stay, use Oribe “Rock Hard Gel” followed by a strong-hold finishing hairspray. Gigi also matched her makeup to her outfit like many stars did, wearing a white shimmer eyeshadow to complement her cage-like white dress.
3. Selena Gomez
Like Gigi, Selena matched her eye makeup to her dress, wearing a devilish red shadow. Her blood red sequin dress was an absolute knockout, and her complimentary eyeshadow made Selena look that much more fierce. She kept the rest of her makeup very simple, with a light peachy gloss and pale complexion sans any blush or contour.
4. Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough looked stunning with her criss-cross parted ash blonde hair, orange-red lipstick, and shimmery copper eyeshadow. The shadow truly made her striking blue eyes pop, and her red lips were the perfect finishing touch. To get Julianne’s look, use MAC’s “Copper” Pigment as eyeshadow and MAC’s “Lady Danger” lipstick.
5. Demi Lovato
Demi’s darker beauty look was definitely a head-turner at this year’s AMA red carpet. She went retro with her 20’s inspired finger waves, and a deep side part. Her kohl-rimmed eyes went perfectly with her vampy red lips. To get Demi’s look, use Lime Crime’s Liquid Lipstick in “Wicked” or MAC’s “Sin” lipstick. Any black eyeshadow will do, but my personal favorite is “Blackout” from the Naked 2 palette – as it has the best pigmentation and lasting power.
6. Lauren Elizabeth
Before today, I hadn’t heard of Lauren Elizabeth but after seeing her look at the 2015 AMA’s, there was no way I could leave her off this list. Between her golden ombre hair, vanilla shimmer eyeshadow, and adorable pink pout, Lauren definitely had the best makeup look of the night. To get her lip color, use MAC’s “Creme Cup”. To get her eyeshadow look, use MAC’s pigment in “Vanilla” and “Copper”.
