My Injectables Experience at Skin Refine MedSpa

Upon my first visit to Skin Refine MedSpa in Sunnyvale, California, I was greeted the second I walked through the door with a warm and friendly introduction by the spa manager/director, Louise. I was also met with smiles from the rest of the staff that I came across in the waiting room, which to me is a very important part of the experience – especially on your first time! I began filling out my forms in the luxurious waiting room couches while Louise made sure she was there to help with any questions I had along the way. Once my forms were finished, Louise was right there to take me back to the patient room without any waiting time.

My Treatment

Dysport
I have always disliked the lines between my brows when I frown so I decided to try Dysport at Skin Refine MedSpa. Dysport is an FDA-approved injectable that can be used to improve wrinkles in both men and women. Similar to Botox, Dysport improves the look of moderate to severe wrinkles between the eyebrows, also known as glabella lines. See my before & after results below!

How Does Dysport Work?
There is a common misconception that injectables such as botox, dysport, etc. are meant for older men/women, or those who are already developing wrinkles. This is incorrect. Treating wrinkles now, or before they develop helps to slow the process of developing deeper lines in the future. By delaying the development of deeper wrinkles, you will look younger for longer and also be able to treat those facial creases much easier down the road.

Everyday, we contract our muscles between our brows whenever we frown, squint, or make a facial expression. And every time these muscles are contracted, frown lines are formed which over time, turn into wrinkles. Deep wrinkles can develop much faster the more these muscles are contracted, so using Dysport to relax these muscles is actually a preventative measure to aging and developing lines and wrinkles. Results from dysport typically last about 4 months.*

When deciding on injectables, one of the most important things to consider is who is going to be administering your treatment. It may not sound like a big difference to someone with minimal knowledge of injectables, but it’s in fact extremely important to make sure your treatment is done by an experienced and very knowledgeable certified physician assistant. I had the pleasure of having my Dysport done by Sandra Sayedi, an amazing certified physician in California who has extensive experience of over 13 years with cosmetic procedures and medical grade skin care. I knew from just speaking to her about my skin concerns that she was going to provide me with the results I was hoping to achieve from this appointment. And I was right! Sandra used the perfect amount of dysport between my brows. All of the unwanted frown lines I pointed out to her were no longer there once I contracted those muscles (several days after once dysport results set in). Sandra is best known for her ability to provide natural results so I knew no matter what I would walk out of my treatment feeling really good about it.
