Everyone’s favorite OCC Lip Tars have now been made into ready to wear liquid lipsticks! The new cylindrical-shaped lip tar tube contains it’s own doe foot applicator, making it much more purse-friendly and easy to use when you’re on the go. The original application process required a separate lip brush as the lip tars were housed in squeeze tubes, so this new collection is like, kind of a big deal!
OCC Makeup officially launched the collection of Ready to Wear Liquid Lipsticks on August 14th at midnight, and I was lucky enough to attend the official launch and sneak peek at the flagship store a few hours before. The RTW collection features 25 of their cult lip tar shades, including Sebastian, Hoochie, and Black Dahlia.
I was given three colors to take home from the event and so here is my official review!
Sebastian
OCC Lip Tar in “Sebastian” has always been one of my favorites so I was super excited to get it in RTW form! Described as a plum-toned taupe, ‘Sebastian’ is definitely not your every day color. However, it is super unique and in the realm of trending lip colors right now. As far as I can remember, ‘Sebastian’ was always sold out when it was just an original lip tar so it’s no surprise they included this shade in RTW.
Hush
OCC Lip Tar in “Hush” is described as a bridal neutral-pink. From the bottle, the color looks much more nude but when I swatched the color (see photo under “Swatches” below), it was more pink than I expected. This is a great color if you’re looking for a neutral shade with a bit of a pop.
Anime
OCC Lip Tar in “Anime” is described as a seriously neon pink, and I’m sure you can see why. This color kind of reminded me of MAC’s ‘Candy Yum Yum’ lipstick but when I compared swatches, it’s a bit warmer and brighter. I personally think ‘Anime’ has the perfect amount of blue undertones, making it very wearable when worn with lighter eye makeup.
