As the holiday season is fast approaching, it’s time to stock up on Kesha’s solo favorite bath ingredient – GLITTER! Make Up For Ever’s glitter line is a customer favorite, as they offer a wide range of colors at a medium price point. The glitters can be used on the face, hair, and body.
Sold at Sephora, Make Up For Ever glitters come in 14 different colors ranging from gold & silvers to pinks and purples. The glitters are available in the following shades: #1 (gold), #2 (silver), #3 (multicolored white), #4 (white violet), #5 (blue), #6 (green), #7 (red), #8 (pink), #9 (purple), #10 (black), #11 (sand), #12 (multicolored pink), #13 (multicolored silver), and #14 (copper).
There are so many different ways you can rock this glitter, from wearing it on your eyes, to sprinkling it on a lip gloss. As shimmery as eye shadow can be, sometimes it’s just not enough sparkle – so that’s when it’s time to invest in some artistry glitter!
I chose to review glitter #1 (metallic gold yellow).
Because the glitter is not really an eye shadow, it’s necessary to create your smokey eye first. But before you begin, make sure you haven’t put on any concealer or foundation under your eyes so when the excess glitter falls off your eye lids after the initial application, it won’t have anything to stick to and will be easier to wipe away. You can also hold a tissue under your eye while you apply the glitter so it doesn’t fall onto the skin, because it’s harder to get off than you would think!
I first primed my eyes with MAC’s Paint Pot in “Painterly” to prevent my eyeshadow from creasing. Then I applied a yellowish white shadow all across my eye as a base (similar to Urban Decay’s “Foxy”). Afterwards, I used a light brown all over and in the crease and a darker brown only in the crease. And now you’re ready for the glitter!
In order to get the glitter to stick, make sure to apply glitter glue to the area you’re placing the glitter first. Too Faced makes a great glitter glue that’s sold at Sephora here. I actually used an eye lash glue and it worked great! It didn’t feel heavy at all like I was expecting. Then I sprinkled some of the glitter on my hand and used my finger to pat the glitter onto my entire eyelid (not going above the crease).
And don’t forget the false lashes!
Overall, I thought the glitter was fairly easy to apply despite it being so easy to make a mess of. As long as you use some type of glue first, the glitter will stick and not be falling down your face throughout the day. I can’t wait to try more colors in this collection. My next pick will be the #2 silver!

Nice festive look. I have yet to try Makeup Forever anything but the display always interests me. Maybe I should start here. Thanks
Love the look 🙂
This looks absolutely incredible on your eyes! I love glitter, and I wear it on my eyes daily, but I keep it subtle for work and school However, on nights out, I go all crazy with all the glitter on my eyes. I can’t believe how beautiful you are 🙂
