If you thought tears were associated with sadness, then think again! Inspired by a cartoon tear, the new Lime Crime “Crybaby” Lipstick shade makes me feel anything but gloomy. I was so lucky to receive a sample of this limited edition shade, and so here is my official review of the tear-inspired lipstick!
The “Crybaby” lipstick was the result of a creative collaboration between Lime Crime’s founder, Doe Deere and recording artist, Melanie Martinez. Before now, I had not heard of the pop singer, but from the photos I’ve seen of her style and look, Lime Crime couldn’t have picked a better partner!

My Review
Formula
I thought the formula was AWESOME. I only have one other Lime Crime lipstick (D’Lilac), but I thought the formula of “Crybaby” was a little bit more matte and less creamy. This is a huge plus though because it didn’t feather over my lip line like D’Lilac did at first. I’m not sure if they changed up the formula with this limited edition lipstick, but I definitely found it much easier to work with. As you can see from the photos, the lipstick also looks slightly matte on my lips which is more appealing when wearing bright colors in my opinion.
Color
From the lipstick tube, the color looks like a true blue but when applied, it’s more of an aqua/lighter blue. I honestly love the color. It’s super unique and is also flattering on a multitude of skin tones (which I always find important to note!)
Overall, I am extremely happy with this lipstick and if you’re into fun and bright colors like this, I definitely recommend “Crybaby”.
