Review: Glossybox Sun Kissed August Edition

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that delivers 5-6 deluxe-sized products right to your doorstep. I was recently gifted with the August Sun-Kissed edition which included 6 products that I’m going to review along with my overall thoughts of the Glossybox.

The Packaging

The Glossybox packaging is by far the best of all the beauty subscription boxes out there. The solid baby pink box is adorned with their signature logo on the lid, along with matching pink tissue paper surrounding the inner contents.

Within each box is a fold out card detailing each item included inside. Each product description also includes the price and size of each item. I like that they incorporate this so you can see the total value of what you’re getting in each box.

The Products

1. Too Faced Mascara Melt Off Cleansing Oil – 0.04 oz Value $3
Too Faced is one of my favorite makeup brands, so I was super excited to see a product of theirs when I opened my Glossybox. When I first saw this product I assumed it was a mascara, but it’s actually a mascara remover. The wand applies a gently dissolving cleansing oil to lashes to help easily remove mascara before your regular cleansing routine. It does add an extra step in the makeup removing process, but I do think it’s a great product to have if you wear waterproof or heavier amounts of mascara that can be hard to remove.

2. Borghese Fango Active Mud for Face & Body – 1 oz Value $3.20
I apply face masks 1-2 times per week, so I was happy to see a spa product in the mix. The Borghese mineral-rich mud is derived from Tuscany’s volcanic hills, and contains a variety of nourishing ingredients. It is used to help purge pores and firm skin. The full size version retails around $75 and comes with a sponge for the removal process.

3. Lait Apres-Soleil After-Sun Lotion – 50 ml Value $12
Considering the August Glossybox is called the Sun-Kissed Edition, it’s only fitting that a sun-related product is included. The Lait After-Sun Lotion is enriched in Monï and a natural molisturizer to calm and nourish skin after sun exposure. The paraben-free formula is super light and has a summer beach scent!

4. Wella Smoothing Oil – 1 oz Value $11.80
The Wella Smoothing Oil was probably my favorite product in this month’s box. The oil is very light and did not make my hair greasy or overly shiny like many oils tend to do. The oil formula is made up of macadamia seed oil, avocado oil and Vitamin E which acts as a natural anti-oxidant to reveal the natural reflections of hair color.

5. Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring – Value $8
When I saw this product I initially wasn’t sure what it was. But after reading it’s description in the card, I realized it was actually a hair tie! Using the Invisibobble hair ring won’t leave any creases like many hair ties tend to do. It can also be used for dozens of pinless up do’s.

6. Trifle Cosmetics Guilty Pug Lip Parfait – FULL SIZE Value $19
The product with the cutest packaging is officially this Guilty Pug Lip Parfait! I mean who out there doesn’t love dogs? *Cue crickets* Anyway, this lip parfait is a lip treatment and lipstick all in one. It’s moisturizing formula is 100% cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free. It’s also infused with cocoa butter to plump and hydrate lips while also giving them a burst of color due to it’s silicon-coated pigment.

Total Value of this box: $57

Overall, I was very impressed with the Glossybox. For me, the presentation is just as important as the content, so I really appreciated the high-end look and feel of this box overall. Since the box is such high quality and eye catching, I recommend reusing it for storing beauty products! I keep mine in my bathroom to store my eye shadow palettes.
