Essie’s recently released Winter 2013 collection featured six new colors of four warm and two cooler toned shades. ‘Parka Perfect‘ was an interesting addition to the winter collection because pastels are normally released in the summer and spring months. However, this particular shade surprisingly works (and well!) for the chilly season.
Essie describes ‘Parka Perfect‘ as a serenely shimmering alpine gray. I wasn’t immediately intrigued by this color from the promo, because it’s always a different experience when you actually try the color on. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised! Just from the first application, I could see why other beauty bloggers were calling this color a “must-have” and how it works great for both summer and winter. Although it is a lighter blue/green, it’s a dustier gray toned blue/green which sort of puts it into the neutrals category with it’s muted brightness.
Currently, I have somewhat of a fading spray tan leftover from Halloween and I found this color to be so flattering on my tanner skin. I have seen this color worn by other bloggers and I also think it’s flattering on more pale skin tones as well. The name ‘Parka Perfect‘ is extremely fitting since this color is seriously just so perfect!
You can purchase Essie’s Parka Perfect at Amazon & Walmart.
