Dolce & Gabbana’s luminous cheek color in “provocative” is a cool toned barbie pink matte blush. Of the several other available colors in this blush, provocative stands out from the rest, and shall we say..lives up to it’s name! I was immediately drawn to this product when I caught a glimpse of how glamorous the gold case was. The only downfall to the case is how easily it shows fingerprints and scratches. But when deciding on a blush, the most important factor is simply the quality of the blush.
Aside from the beautiful packaging, fairly high quality brush (despite the fact that I will most likely never use it), and engraved Dolce & Gabbana logo, the blush not only blends like a dream but also encompasses just the right amount of pigmentation. You would think from looking at this blush that it is highly pigmented and bright, but it’s actually more sheer than most blushes I’ve used, making it a bright enough yet subtle pink blush.
The Dolce & Gabbana Luminous Cheek Colour costs $45 and is sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue. It can be purchased here.
The blush comes in a black velvet “dust bag” to protect the elegant casing.
The gold casing is almost as tantalizing as the blush itself. It also conveniently doubles as a mirror! However, there is a mirror inside the case as well. As you can see, it scratches fairly easily, and I haven’t even used mine yet!
Above is a swatch of the blusher I took with a flash to capture the color better. As you can see, it does not appear on the skin nearly as bright as it looks in the case. The powder is also fairly loose, so use a light hand when dipping your brush into the blush. A little bit goes a long way!
