Chanel’s Poudre Universelle Compacte ($45.00 for 0.53 oz.) is a natural finish pressed powder meant to be applied after makeup is complete to set your foundation.
“Imparts a translucent, natural matte finish when applied over makeup in the morning or as an anytime touch-up. Ultra-fine lightweight formula with light-reflecting pigments and luxuriously soft feel creates a flattering, halo-like look.”
For being Chanel, of course the packaging is exquisite. The pressed powder comes in a black case containing both a mirror and makeup sponge to apply the powder with. I will most likely use my Chanel Powder Brush #1 to apply, but the sponge will come in very handy when I take the compact in my purse.
The powder itself is very lightweight and translucent, so it blends in perfectly. Out of all the pressed powders I have tried, this one is truly my favorite in terms of quality and overall performance. Not to mention it’s in such a beautiful case, I can’t help but keep it in my purse 24/7.
The Poudre Universelle Compacte comes in 3 colors:
- 20 – Clair
- 30 – Naturel
- 40 – Dore
I chose to get this powder in ‘Naturel’ since I have a medium skin tone. You definitely want to try this powder on in the store first because although it is translucent, it should still be slightly close in color to your skin.
This pressed powder can be bought at Nordstrom or Saks.
