July 29th marks National Lipstick Day and it’s time to pucker up! Whether you’re more into the classic red lip, or dare to stand out in a hot pink pout, I have compiled a list of six lipsticks to lust after!
The Lipsticks
1. OCC Lip Tar in “Queen” is a bright neon red coral with a matte finish. National Lipstick Day conveniently falls on a Summer month, so this vibrant shade couldn’t be any more perfect to wear with that glowing tan. 2. TRUE Issac Mizrahi in “Hooray” is one of my favorite hot pink shades. It’s such a perfect color because it’s a true hot pink, meaning it isn’t on the cool or warm side. 3. Bésame Red Velvet Lipstick is a semi-matte deep red lipstick. I hadn’t heard about this brand until recently, but the packaging of this vintage-like tube was enough to entice me to try it. The lipstick is extremely pigmented and has a very unique flat shaped stick. 4. Tarte LipSurgence Lip Stain in “Moody” is a deep berry shade. I wanted to include a lip stain in this list because it’s such a great alternative if you’re looking for a slightly more natural look – since it’s super lightweight and not as heavy as a lipstick. 5. YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in “Violet Incognito” is a deep cool purple tone. The Rouge Volupté lipsticks are YSL’s best selling line and after owning some of them myself, I can totally see why! They are super hydrating and highly pigmented. Because of their lustrous finish, they don’t last as long, but with how gorgeous the bottle is, who wouldn’t want to be seen reapplying this glamorous tube all day long. Buy at Nordstrom.com
6. Tom Ford Lip Color in “Bruised Plum” is a deep reddish plum with a subtle shimmer. These lipsticks run slightly on the higher-end price point ($52 for a tube!), but their vanilla scent and classy gold lipstick tube just coax me to justify the price tag. Buy at Nordstrom.com.
