We all know that moment where we have all the nail polish, tools, and art pens all ready to create a masterpiece on our nails, but despite having everything we need in front of us, the inspiration is missing. It’s kind of like writers block. Shall we call it…nails block?
One of my favorite manicures I’ve ever done was the one where I took inspiration from “Domo,” my favorite little monster (pictured above). I can’t tell you how many compliments I got, and it wasn’t even that tricky to do! Here are the quick steps:
- Paint your nails all one color and let them dry. (I chose American Apparel’s “Factory Grey”)
- Cut the end off of a toothpick to make a flatter surface, then dip it in your color of choice to create the dots on the other fingers. You can also use this flat end of the toothpick to create Domo’s eyes.
- Use the nail polish brush to glide a thick line across the upper part of the nail in order to create the outer section of Domo’s mouth. Let it dry!
- Use the sharper end of the toothpick to make the red squiggle lines within the white area you just painted.
- Finish it off with a top coat and you’re good to go!
