I recently shared my evening skincare routine, which documented the steps beginning with removing my makeup and ending with applying a bedtime moisturizer. But achieving a great complexion and taking care of your skin requires more than just a night regime. With that being said, here is a breakdown of all the morning skincare products that I use to start off my day.
The Products
1. Avalon Organics Wrinkle Therapy Day Creme ($22)
There are so many different types of moisturizers on the market that it can be overwhelming deciding on which one to choose. A good place to start is to determine when you’ll be applying the moisturizer (ie: morning or night). Daytime vs. nighttime moisturizers can be dramatically different in terms of their ingredients and benefits. I personally love the Avalon Organics Wrinkle Therapy Day Cream for my morning moisturizer. The antioxidant-intensive formula pairs Co-Enzyme Q10 to boost cellular energy, along with Rosehip Oil to replenish skin/fight wrinkles. It’s a lighter moisturizer so it doesn’t feel heavy on my face throughout the day, but also locks in hydration and nutrients. Buy at TARGET.
2. Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner ($6.29)
Toners and cleansers go hand-in-hand. After cleansing, I use the Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner to remove excess oil and dirt that was left behind after cleansing. There are no added fragrances or dyes in this toner, which is a really great attribute as toners can have a tendency to dry out skin. Buy at WALGREENS.
3. Borghese Collezione D’Oro Occhi Eye Treatment ($59.50)
In my opinion, eye creams are the most important part of a skincare routine. Because skin around the eyes is the most sensitive in comparison to the rest of the face, it’s the first area to show signs of aging. The Borghese Eye Treatment cream not only helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, but it also works to brighten and reduce under eye-bags. Formulated with Aura-28 Peptide and Gold Nanoparticles, this treatment works by stimulating the synthesis of Collagen III which helps to improve skin’s elasticity. Buy at BORGHESE or BLOOMINGDALES.
4. The Magic Pads ($19.95)
If you haven’t already heard of the Magic Pads, then I am excited to introduce to you this revolutionary product. Using a blend of Organic Willow Bark, Glycolic acid, and Vitamin E, these pads help to smooth and tighten skin, shrink pores, exfoliate, clear blemishes, and clarify skin. If those benefits weren’t enough, these Magic Pads also tone and hydrate skin with Organic Aloe Vera as the base of it’s formula. Buy at THEMAGICPADS.
5. Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil ($78)
Just like toners go hand-in-hand with cleansers, serums/oils should be used in conjunction with your daily moisturizer. I personally like to apply my facial oil first as it absorbs quicker into skin than a moisturizer. After about a minute, I then apply my moisturizer. I was recently introduced to the Marula Pure Marula brand of products and have discovered my new favorite serum! The Marula Facial Oil is a multifunctional anti-aging serum that hydrates, protects, and rejuvenates skin. With a high content of fatty acides, this serum is fast absorbing, leaving skin super soft and smooth with a matte finish. One of the things I love about this facial oil is it’s enticing fresh scent. On top of moisturizing skin, it can also be used as a makeup primer. Buy at SEPHORA.
6. Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Complete Clarity Facial Cleansing Wash ($22)
When I first heard about Christie Brinkley’s line of skincare products I knew it had to be good. And after receiving an assortment of her products to try, I can attest that I was wright. The Christie Brinkley Complete Clarity Facial Wash is currently my favorite cleanser. The light foaming gel effectively removes makeup while balancing moisture throughout. It’s a gentle cleanser for all skin types, and leaves skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Buy at BIRCHBOX.
