Fall has officially arrived just in time for the launch of two new Lime Crime Velvetine shades! “Jinx” a witchberry purple, and “Squash” a glowstick orange, are the brands two newest colors that are giving us major Halloween vibes!
“Squash” is a light pumpkin-orange and the first orange Velvetine the brand has launched. If you’re familiar with Lime Crime, you probably know about their orange unicorn lipstick in “My Beautiful Rocket”, which is more of a peachy brighter orange. However, “Squash” is much lighter and has fewer red undertones than “My Beautiful Rocket”.
The swatches of “Squash” above show you how truly orange this shade is. “Squash” is aptly named after exactly what it reminds you of! A pumpkin! But I love that the brand didn’t name it that since it’s obvious. “Squash” just sounds more unique and mysterious!
I seriously cannot wait to rock this shade for Halloween. I was originally nervous about it not flattering my skintone but it surprisingly went on beautifully. I needed about 1.5 coats to completely cover my lips but just like the other Velvetines, I thought the formula was super easy to work with and applied flawlessly. “Squash” is also highly pigmented, which is exactly what you would expect for a color so bright.
