With the Halloween/Fall season upon us, darker lipstick hues are popping up left and right. Along with the fact that dark brown lipstick is widely trending right now, I thought I would review one of Lime Crime’s most coveted shades!
“Salem” is a true chocolate dark brown shade. Like the other Lime Crime Velvetines, it applies in liquid form and dries completely matte. It also lasts an incredibly long time – especially for a liquid lipstick. I wore Salem for about 6 hours before it began to slightly fade. Once dry, it doesn’t rub off easily so it’s my favorite type of lipstick to wear if I’m going out for drinks or an event where I don’t want to continue reapplying my lipstick.
The formula of “Salem” is amazing. It’s highly pigmented and very true to it’s color, so be careful when applying! Sometimes I like to first line my lips with a liner before applying liquid lipstick or just darker colors in general since it can be hard to create a perfect lip line.
So far, “Salem” is definitely my favorite Velvetine to date. I cannot get enough of this chocolately hue! Not to mention it’s perfect for Halloween and the Fall season.
