Lime Crime is continually releasing new Velvetine Liquid Lipsticks, and I was recently sent the shade “Faded” to try. Faded is described as a Purple Beige. Like the other Velvetines, the formula of Faded is non-drying and long-lasting! Generically referred to as a liquid lipstick, the Velvetines go on like a liquid gloss but dry matte.
This is actually my second Velvetine I have tried now. The first one I ever bought (and reviewed!) was Cashmere. I think Lime Crime has such a great variety of shades, and they’re always releasing colors that are trending which is extremely important. Their packaging and marketing is also super cute and roses happen to be my favorite thing in the world so this relationship could not be a more perfect match!
Depending on your lip pigmentation and skin tone, “Faded” can look slightly more on the pink side. I noticed it looked brighter/more pink when I wore it after a spray tan as opposed to my natural lighter skin tone. The photo below is my natural skin with minimal foundation – so it’s a pretty accurate depiction of what the color looks like on similar skin tones.
I personally love this color. If you like Kat Von D “Lovecraft” lipstick than you’ll LOVE this color. It’s slightly similar in shade but rather than a regular lipstick, “Faded” is obviously a liquid lipstick – which I prefer more. See below for swatches of “Faded” with both flash and no flash.
