Lime Crime Velvetine in Cashmere – Review & Swatches

Lime Crime Cashmere Velvetine

Lime Crime Cashmere Velvetine
Lime Crime recently restocked their collection of Velvetines and I couldn’t resist purchasing the lust-worthy and heavily sought-after Cashmere.

Lime Crime describes Cashmere as a “Soft Greige”, or in other words, a combination of grey and beige. But to me, it’s more of a mauve nude.

If you’re not familiar with the LC Velvetines, they are basically lipsticks that glide on liquid but dry matte – also known as liquid lipsticks. The Velvetines are also said to be touch/transfer-proof.

The Velvetine tube was smaller than I was expecting, but I’m also probably visually comparing it to my Anastasia Liquid Lipstick tube, which is much longer. The liquid lipstick glided on very smoothly, and I found I didn’t even need a lipliner – although if you know of one that goes well with Cashmere, please let me know! I think a liner would have helped it stay on longer. I pressed my lips on the top of my hand to test the “touch-proof” promise and it did come off quite easily, but I only waited under 10 minutes after applying so maybe after a longer period it becomes more transfer-proof.

Below are swatches of Cashmere, shown with flash and no flash.

Overall, I’m not sure if this color is worth all the type it gets but it’s definitely an amazing color. In terms of dupes, I have searched high and low for one but the closest color I could find is “Ghoulish” by LASplash Cosmetics. The LASplash lipsticks are also half the price of Lime Crime’s, so they might be worth trying out before investing in Cashmere.
