How To: Get Kylie Jenner’s Lips

After some research and trial & error, I have discovered the secret to Ms. Kylie Jenner’s enviable pouty mouth! And no, I’m not talking lip-injections, I’m talking lip-liner.

With a team of professional makeup-artists constantly following these K sisters around, it’s no wonder they are always behind all the latest beauty trends. Lately, the spotlight has shifted a bit from Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney onto the younger sisters of the brood: The Jenners. Kylie seems to be more “out-there” with her makeup and style – and has got every girl right now lusting for her pouty rose lips.

So anyway, on to Kylie’s secret: Overdraw your lip liner. But before you end up looking more Marilyn Manson (or worse) then Kylie Jenner, be sure to carefully follow these steps first:

1. Dab a dime-sized amount of concealer around the entire outline of your lips. Start blending. If you have higher pigmented lips like me, you can blend all over so the lip-liner/lipstick looks true to color.

2. Set the concealer you just applied with finishing powder. I use Bare Minerals, but Smashbox also has a great finishing powder.

3. Make sure the lip liner you choose is sharpened, and begin outlining slightly outside your natural lip line. Emphasis on the slightly, as you don’t want it to look too unnatural. To achieve the exact color of Kylie Jenner’s lips, use MAC’s lipliner in ‘Whirl’ (which has been said to be exactly what she uses). I personally end up lining my entire lips with the lip-liner since I love the color so much. But if you want to apply lipstick on afterwards, use MAC’s ‘Brave’ or ‘Faux’ with the ‘Whirl’ lipliner to get Kylie’s exact lip color.
