With less than a month away until school starts, it’s time to round up this year’s beauty essentials. The start of the school year was always my favorite time, as I loved to reinvent myself and switch up my style or beauty routine. Whether you’re beginning a new year at high school or University, here is a list of 10 beauty essentials that are like, so fetch.
The Products
1. Scunci Braided Elastics ($3.99)
Wearing a hair tie on your wrist is second nature to us girls, but sometimes you’ll come across a hair tie so tight that it practically cuts off circulation to your hand. That being said, the Scunci Braided Elastics is the first essential you need for back-to-school. They have the strength of a regular elastic hair tie but without the metal parts. Both comfortable and trendy, these hair ties won’t fail your ponytail (or your wrist). Buy at ULTA.
2. Britney Spears Private Show Perfume ($32)
I always love to switch up what fragrance I’m using, and the start of a new school year is the perfect time to do that. Thankfully, the Queen of perfumes and pop music, Britney Spears has just launched a new fragrance called “Private Show.” With notes of dulce de leche, orange flower, jasmine samba, and luminous amber, this fragrance is truly one-of-a-kind. What I love about this perfume is that it can be worn both day and night, with an even distribution of both floral and musk notes. Buy at KOHL’S.
3. Botanics All Bright Cleansing Face Wipes ($6.99)
The Botanics line of skincare products is one of my favorites. Not only does the collection have such cute packaging, but the products are super high-quality and still very affordable. The Botanics Cleansing Face Wipes are perfect for carrying around in your bag because they don’t take up too much room and can be essential to have when you need to remove makeup or freshen your face after a gym class or before attending a practice after school. These cleansing wipes even remove waterproof makeup and are suitable for sensitive skin. Buy at TARGET.
4. Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray Medium Hold ($18)
Hairspray is a MUST if you want to keep your hairstyle in tact throughout the roughly 8 hour school day. The Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray is perfect because it doesn’t leave your hair in a tacky state like many other hairsprays do. It gives hair both volume and natural movement, while still keeping the style in shape. Buy at ULTA.
5. Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder ($25)
Sure, having voluminous lips is in right now but we all know having killer eyebrows is really every girl’s #goals. I recently discovered the Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder and haven’t used anything else on my brow’s since. The powder lets you build more coverage, especially to the sparse areas of the eyebrow like the ends. I think the powder gives brows a more natural look, rather than using a pencil or ultra pigmented pomade. This powder is available in 4 shades ranging from “Blonde” (lightest) to “Dark Brown” (darkest). Buy at MACY’S.
6. Colorclub Nailmoji Nail Polish ($8.50)
Does anyone even remember what texting was like before emoji’s? I know I don’t. My point is, emoji’s are like the greatest thing to ever happen to cell phones and now Colorclub has infused these popular characters into a new line of nail polish. Introducing the Colorclub Nailmoji collection! The brand has so far released two collections, one neon and one glitter, all which are mixed with your favorite emoticons. My personal favorite color, “Vibes” is a glitter polish infused with smiley faces, hearts, lips, and more. Buy at COLORCLUB.
7. Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Gloss “It Girl” ($6)
I don’t know about you, but when I was in school I was never without a good lip gloss. The Hard Candy Plumping Serum Gloss in “It Girl” (clear gloss) is perfect for school because it’s subtle yet volumizing. The super glossy formula is not only a volumizer but a hydrator as well. This line of volumizing glosses also come in a variety of colors if you aren’t into the clear gloss look. Buy at WALMART.
8. Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Leg Makeup ($12.99)
Who says you can’t be tan just because Summer ends? I like to keep a year-round tan by spraying the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs on my arms and legs. I have tried tons of self-tanners and I’m sure if you have too than you know how hard it is to find a good one. So when I discovered this product I was instantly hooked. I even purchased them in bulk on eBay so I wouldn’t run out. They are available in a few different shades so you can choose how dark you want your tan to be. I like to spray it on a mitt first and then rub into skin. The Sally Hansen Airbrush spray is also super affordable, which is important for someone like me who uses it on a weekly basis. Buy at ULTA.
9. Macadamia Style Extend Dry Shampoo ($25)
Dry shampoo is an every-day must but especially for back-to-school. You never know when you’ll need to revive your hair of build-up and grease, so I suggest keeping the Macadamia Dry Shampoo at school in a locker or with you in your bag. I love this dry shampoo because it really does a good job at absorbing oil and also leaves my hair smelling fresh and revived. The ingredients include Macadamia Oil, Argan Oil, and Passion Flower Extract which provides antioxidant protection in addition to it’s shampoo duties. Buy at ULTA.
10. Earth’s Care Acne Spot Treatment ($10.49)
There’s nothing worse than starting your first day of school off with a pimple, so an acne treatment is a must. I use the Earth’s Care Acne Spot Treatment at the first sign of any acne because it works super quickly in clearing up even the most stubborn blemishes. It’s made up of 10% sulfur, which is a natural ingrediant that has been used for a variety of medicinal reasons since ancient times. I personally like to go the most natural route when choosing products like this because I think they work the best. This acne treatment is also free of parabens and artificial colors/fragrances. Buy at EARTHS-CARE.COM.
