The sun is slowly starting to make an appearance and that means that warmer temperatures are closer than we think! With warmer temperatures comes tanner complexions, and I have tested and tried tons of bronzers and tanning products in preparation for my second tanning story now! I have selected a list of 5 tanning products that I recommend adding to your collection before the warmer season officially begins.
The Products
1. Xen-Tan Fresh Tanning Mousse ($48)
One of my favorite types of self-tanners are those with a mousse formula, as they’re super easy to work with and blend in effortlessly. The Xen-Tan tanning collection is a trending brand right now, and their Fresh Tanning Mousse is my personal favorite. The colorless mousse is not only super hydrating, but also contains Optimu Complex-30, which is a DHA complex that works to blend in with your own pigment. The smooth texture of the mousse is incredibly easy to work with and has a light but fresh grapefruit scent. Buy at Nordstrom.com.
2. Australian Gold Self Tanning Lotion ($8.99)
A great alternative to the instant bronzing lotions is a gradual self-tanning lotion. The Australian Gold Self Tanning Lotion is one of my favorite gradual tanning lotions because it’s super easy to blend and doesn’t leave any unattractive streaking. The formula is a gel-like lotion that contains chamomile and Vitamin E to soften skin while also giving it a subtle boost of color. The light and refreshing fragrance also leaves your skin smelling fresh, and not like your average tanning lotion smell. This tanning lotion is also extremely affordable – retailed under $10. Buy at Ulta.com.
3. Svelta Skin-Perfecting Self Tanner ($38)
I recently discovered the Svelta skincare brand, and have fallen in love ever since. They not only make tanning products but body scrubs as well – which go hand-in-hand with self-tanners as it’s essential to exfoliate first before applying any type of lotion. The Svelta Skin-Perfecting Self Tanner delivers a flawless sunless tan within 4-8 hours of application. The formula includes healthy botanicals including Sacred Lotus, Aloe, Olive Leaf, and many more healing extracts that help skin look smooth and feel hydrated along with it’s bronzing capabilities. Buy at Sveltatan.com.
4. Fake Bake Air Brush Instant Self-Tanning Spray ($33)
Fake Bake has always been one of my go-to tanning brands, but I wanted to specifically recommend their Air Brush Instant Self-Tanning Spray, as it makes for one of the easiest self-tanning applications along with a natural bronze color. The 360-degree nozzle allows you to spray anywhere as well as hard to reach places. The formula includes potent tanning ingredients that give you an incredibly rich and beautiful tan, while also being quick-drying. Buy at Ulta.com.
5. Rimmel London Natural Bronzer ($5.99)
Aside from all the self-tanners, I wanted to recommend one of my favorite bronzers right now. The Rimmel London Natural Bronzer is aptly named as it delivers a truly natural looking color. The pressed powder bronzer comes in a circular container with a cute sun stamp in the powder. I love to wear this bronzer even in the colder months to give my cheeks a boost of color, and I even like to add some to my neck so that my face isn’t a completely different color. This bronzer is also super affordable, running you around $6 or less, depending on where you buy it. Buy at Drugstore.com.
